IWA provides a platform for intercultural exchange and interaction for women at the University of Utah and in the local community. All women interested in intercultural communication, topics, and awareness are welcome to participate in IWA activities. IWA seeks to bring together women of all cultural backgrounds and interests to network, learn about cultural adjustment, discuss women’s issues across many cultures, support each other, and spend time together in fun activities. All global nomad women are welcome to join IWA! This is the ideal organization for women who studied abroad, international students, spouses of international students, students who lived abroad prior to attending the University of Utah, women who participated in Peace Corps, and those who are simply interested in other cultures. IWA is actively involved in promoting leadership and skill development by hosting activities and events in collaboration with other departments at the University of Utah in a supportive atmosphere. Activities and events have been organized in collaboration with the Graduate School, Division of Human Resources, Career Services, University Student Apartments, and Housing and Residential Education. IWA members have also supported initiatives at the university hosted by other ASUU student organizations on campus, such as the International Student |
Council (ISC), Graduate and Lady Scientists (GALS), Cross Culture Club (CCC), and Key Club Toastmasters. IWA also coordinated an outreach activity to promote intercultural awareness among K-12 students in collaboration with YMCA Salt Lake City. The IWA leadership is always excited to seek collaborations with organizations working to promote cross-cultural awareness on campus and in the community. IWA is an ASUU-supported student organization and is supported and advised by the International Center at the University of Utah.
